Oceanic Trading is committed to operating with completely sustainable practices and fisheries, and to strive to minimise any environmental impact. The Australian fisheries we operate in are some of the best managed in the world, and a large majority of seafood caught in Australia is classified as sustainable (over 90%) or recovering (~5%). That being said, we are always looking to do things better and are proactive about environmental issues such as reducing our plastic usage and our carbon footprint.

Oceanic Trading primarily operates in the West Coast Deep Sea Crustacean Managed Fishery which is a MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certified fishery. The MSC is an independent international body which examines sustainability including indirect issues such as labour practices and bait usage. We are proud that our fishery gained accreditation in 2016 and has maintained our MSC certification for sustainability since then through yearly audits. This also speaks to the strong management and research undertaken by our state government fisheries managers and scientists.
